busy next few weeks

hey everyone,
i went to the bday party yesterday, it was long and fun. i am right now planning to go to the capital, guatemala city-guate. for short, on bus on weds. a.m. and have someone meet me at the station to take me to the immigration office so i can start the process to extend my visa. the director of my school called a buy you ones and bed and breakfast in guate. he is going to take me from the bus station in the a.m. to the office and then back from the office to to the bus station to take a bus back. i don't want to stay there during the extension process. i want to get up there and get back during the same day. it's going to be a LONG tiring day. as i have to take a bus at 430 a.m. to guate and i'll get there around 9 a.m. then the guy will take me to the office and wait for me. i'll then take another 5 hr. bus ride back to xela. i'd rather have it this way and not have to stay overnight...it can take a few days...

i'm going to return to the captial next weds. aug 16th on nolan's bday to stay over night at the bed and breakfast and then pick up my visa the following a.m. and meet nolan at the airport and then have the guy take us to the bus station to take the 5 hour bus ride back to xela together.

keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly. i'm a bit on edge, but want to begin the paperwork process before nolan gets here as i don't want to be caught in the capital with paperwork and my visa stuff when we could be having fun and traveling.

i'll write more when i have time! i'm trying to plan our trip right now and catch up on my studies. i've been slacking a bit. i'm trying to review all my stuff right now. i'm gettting pretty far in my grammar...i've learned 2 past tenses, present, 2 future tenses, 3 past perfect participle, past participle, 3 conditional tenses, and tomorrow i'll start learning subjunctive, which is what i wanted to get through before i left, but i found a place in chicago that offers classes, which i've taken from before and they told me they go over subjunctive throughly. i an intermediate III spanish speaker, but i feel far from it. the next level is advanced I. i feel like i know nothing sometimes...i have probs with some of the tenses. it didn't help that i had a sucky teacher last week. i have an incredibly one this week. i'm going to make up the class i missed next sunday. and i'm going to have classes for 10 next mon and tues to make up for not having classes on thurs and friday of next week to spend time with nolan. ugh! it's worth it though! plus, i want to get my 50 hrs of lecture in...i'm a freaking nerd. so i'm not going to push subjunctive too much and really focus on reviewing to ensure that what i've learned i never VERY well.

jenny and lauren, did ya'll learn this? i'm looking forward to practicing with you guys. ya'll said you a few years of spanish.

keep your fingers crossed that all goes well in guate. on weds. nolan, please call me on weds. night. i should be home by 7 or 8 p.m. the lasted. the biggest thing is how long it'll take in the capital at the immigration office.

k, i would love to practice spanish with you. those parts of speech sound vaguely familiar, but it's been so long i'm sure you'd be teaching me everything. i think languages are supposed to come back to you once you use them again, right?

we should get a projector for the picture show when you get back. i can't wait to see them.

does anyone in josefina's family use email, or will you have to send them snail mail to keep in touch?
